Our Story
When Jase was looking for some new hunting land and I was looking for a place to build a barn to host weddings, we stumbled upon this gem. What a treasure right on the Ouachita River! We both hit the jackpot, and before Jase ever stepped into the house, he told the realtor, "We'll take it!" He fell in love with the property, and I fell in love with the history and the beautiful home. We both saw the potential immediately. Being able to bring the original beauty back to life while adding modern amenities was a challenge, but we believe the charm and natural surrounding beauty speaks for itself. We love this home and would love even more to share it with the people of our community and beyond.
We both would like to invite you to be a part of southern history right here in our hometown community of Monroe, Louisiana. This beautiful plantation home and surrounding buildings were built in 1847 and have stood the tests of time with a gracious beauty that reflects true Louisiana living. Bordered by a flourishing pecan orchard, a working corn field and the essential Ouachita River that our twin cities (Monroe/West Monroe) have relied upon since the first immigrants settled here in 1798, this is the ideal place for your wedding, family reunion, elegant dinner, informal gathering or just a weekend getaway.
Included on the grounds are the main house with three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, original chapel-turned-honeymoon suite, original barn, renovated reception shed now complete with chandeliers, dance floor and two sets of custom barn doors. There is also a building with two half baths for event guests, one being handicapped accessible. We hope to share this historic and beautiful property with you soon!
